Children conference in Kyenjojo eastern Uganda 2011

In January 2011 we had a nice children’s conference in Kyenjojo at a school yard, that was organised by Noah’s Arc.
We were allowed to use a school near by, where the children could walk to.
We announced the conference over the radio and the attendance was very good.

Nyakato Stella

Nyakato Stella HIV children Noah's Arc in Uganda organisationAm called Stella and am a twin that is why I have the other name, it means the second to be born among twins just ages 13 years and a born again Christian.

I love church and at list I attend church every Sunday. I live with my grandmother who has several other children. I have no other biological parents they passed away in 2007, they all died of AIDS. When they were still alive I can recall they would carry me and baby seat me but now no more and I miss it for sure.

My father was a local guard and my mother used to sell charcoal so as to earn a living and as of now my grandmother has a small stall in the local market where she raises some support much as she is growing older and not sure of what will happen after wards. I live with other six children, we sleep on an old mattress but with no beddings . I am the fourth born, I like going to school because from there I can get more understanding like as of now I have learnt the sources of AIDS so am careful with my life.

I like mathematics and English. I walk 1 km every day to school. I lack clothes, shoes and general school help. I have a pair of shoes but very old with my toes out whenever I put it on. I have just clothes my uniform inclusive. I want to become a nurse because they look smart and they earn good money. I love jumping with my friend Goret. I got a dress for Christmas from my grand and it was a great surprise.

Wafula Garvin

Wafula Garvin is a child in Kyenjojo in Uganda and needs your helpI am called Garvin Wafula and my name means that I was born during a rainy season. I am 14 years old in senior one. I go to a protestant church every Sunday. I live in Kyenjojo with my elder brother. I have no parent they all passed away and had to tell when they passed away because I was very young by the time. I was told that sweet dad died of AIDS and my loving mother of an accident. I had never experienced them when they were alive so don’t really know what to say about them never the less I miss them, I believe if they were here they would be taking good care of me and see me at school but as of now it is through a lot of sweat that I manage to go to school.

I only found the piece of land and an old house which they left for us much as I can’t do any development now given my capacity. I have other three brothers and all depending on our big brother who earn a small income. I do share some small mattress with one of my brother. In our family am the last born. I love going to school because I yarn to speak good English like other people do.

At school I like English, History, Chemistry and Geography. I walk over 8 km to and from school every day. I would really request for help in my basic needs and scholastic materials because I usually lag behind because of lack of them. I have a pair of used shoes and 5 sets of clothes my uniform inclusive. I want to read hard and I become an engineer so as to earn money and not remain poor. In my life I like my chemistry teacher because he makes a lot of fun in class as he is teaching so makes learning more interesting and easier. As well I like athletics and soccer. Once helped and study I will become a great man and help others.

I am 17years old, am a protestant by religion and saved in 2007 after realizing that I was a sinner just as the bible says that all have sinned and fallen short of Glory, I attend church services once a week.

I stay in Kasiina village and I have no parents but living with my grandmother who is around 70 years. I do not remember the time when my parents past away because I was very young and really do not know what killed them. Am now staying with my Grandmother and we are 3 children at home. I sleep with one of the kids on one mattress. I only have one sister and which we share the same mother and am the first born on my father’s side and on my mother as well.

I go to school to get knowledge I love schooling so much and my best subject are C.R.E, Agriculture, Chemistry and physical. The distance from home to school is 1 and half kms. I normally face the challenge of lack of scholastic materials and school fees and other basic needs, I would like to be helped much with school needs.

I only have 1pair of shoes and 7 pair of clothing including the school uniform. my dream is to become a nurse and my best friend is my uncle. I like watching football so much, I want to become a nurse because to treat people. Mboneko Ruth

Uganda children orphans project against AIDS help to give a future schoolRuth is 13 years old and she is a christian young girl. Her name means she was born when the moon had shown up.
She is currently in primary 3.
She lost her mum and dad when she was around five years.
Her father died because of robbers on the way to deliver a consignment and he was no more and the mother died after words and sickness which was not fully established.
Ruth is currently staying with an aunt who is as well sickly, very weak and poor and can hardly raise any income. She has been raising her income from gardens but now she is very weak that she can not dig any more. Actually she is a widow.

The conditions around her life are risky as well , once helped i think we will have helped to save her life today and in future.

Kisembo Sarah

orphan kid Uganda Tororo project HIV Aids hiv-testSarah is 12 years old and in primary six.
She loves school and so hard working only pulled down by the standards of her current school down in the village where every thing is not up to standard. She walks 6 km from home to school every day to and from.
She is a christian and her name means “gift” and for sure she is a gift from God.

She lost both her mum and dad when she was still three years old and hence did not experience any love from her parents. Her parents died of AIDS but we hope she is fine because we have not yet tested her but we will as soon as possible.
After hearing about them we visited her place where they stay and we found out that they have never had a matress in life and apart from the clothes she is putting on in the picture has a uniform that is partly torn.
We found her living with her grand father and grand mother who are now over 80 years and growing very weak, they can no longer raise any money to support them for the basic needs , this is so challenging because being a girl child it calls for a lot. The grands themselves need our support as well but they did a good work in raising them up to this far. Life around her life is very challenging and the grands are not sure of the next step in as far as raising these children is concern and they say they are close to saying bye to the world.

HIV – test

On the 10th of February we had an HIV-test with the project children at the Noah’s ARC office with thyme of living responsible life.

Only two of them were found positive, so now we have to encourage them to live responsible, but still happy and normal.

The children are not to blame, that they are positive, but the parents. But most of the time, they are already dead, because of their slanderous lifestyle.

But the children have a father in heaven, who cares for them, and as it is written that the children belong into heaven they should know, where they are going to, when they leave the earth!

Here are some pictures of the testing:
